Dr. Jim. Jaw Hsieh - Vice Chairman,
Board of Directors
Dr. Hsieh is the inventor
of longwave laser which created the fiber
optics network we know today.
He received
the David Sarnoff Award and LEOS/IEEE Aron
Kessel Award in 1992 and 2002 respectively
for the invention and commercialization
of semiconductor lasers for fiber-optic
communications.
In 1980 Dr. Hsieh formed
Wuhan Telecommunication Devices Company
(WTD) in Wuhan, China and was named Vice-Chairman
of the board. WTD has become the largest
and most trusted manufacturer of active
fiber optical components in China.
Dr. Hsieh
founded the Asian American Bank in Boston,
and served as Vice-Chairman and board member.
